Elections

Early Voting

Early Voting will run 9 days prior to an Election, excluding the Monday before. Ex: Saturday, 10/24/26 through Sunday, 11/1/26, from 8:30AM – 4:30PM.
Mondays Clerks need time to set up for the Tuesday Election.
The following jurisdictions participate in the County run Early Voting at the Big Rapids Township Hall for all State and Federal Elections:

  • Aetna Township
  • Big Rapids Charter Township
  • City of Big Rapids
  • Colfax Township
  • Deerfield Township
  • Grant Township
  • Green Charter Township
  • Hinton Township
  • Martiny Township
  • Mecosta Township
  • Millbrook Township
  • Morton Township
  • Sheridan Township
  • Wheatland Township

 

Early Voting for these jurisdictions will be held at the Big Rapids Township Hall, 14230 Northland Drive, Big Rapids, MI 49307.

Election Day

  • Election Day runs from 7AM until 8PM.
  • Big Rapids Township voters will vote at the Township Hall, 14230 Northland Drive, Big Rapids, MI 49307.

Precinct 1A is for those in the Big Rapids Public School District, and Precinct 1B is for those in the Morley Stanwood School District.

Early AV Ballot Processing Information

Clerk Office Hours Prior to each Election:

  • Saturday, 8:00am-12:00pm
  • Sunday, 8:00am-12:00pm unless otherwise noted.

Absentee Voting

  • Early/Absentee Voting: By appointment.
  • Online Absentee Applications
  • There is a DropBox attached to the Township building, for all absentee applications/ballots. It is checked daily.
  • Online Voter Registration (You may only register online up until 15 days prior to the election. Otherwise, you must register in person with a verifying document ex: bank statement, utility bill with CURRENT address)
  • Voting will be open at the Polls at the Township Hall from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm.
